Amplify and Educate
Boost verified and vetted information about upcoming events, fundraisers, and other news on social media by liking or commenting on posts, or by sharing it.
Share verified and vetted info with friends and family by text, email, phone, and in person. It is important to amplify only verified news. Do not share information or memes you haven’t vetted.
Create or share infographics of verified and vetted information that are easy to understand.
Translate news and infografics to include other languages.
Share resources. You probably know many. Defend 612 and Stand With Minnesota are excellent resources.
Do not share any personal information or images of people’s faces unless given permission to do so. Federal agents can use both the image and the metadata produced by it to track people. If you post a picture, take a screenshot of it and post that instead of the original in order to avoid metadata transferring with the image.

Push Back on Disinformation
Push back in personal conversations when false information arises. Share accurate information and sources if you have them available.
Do not interact with false information in any way. Engagement, whether positive or negative, signals valuable content, prompting algorithms to boost that post and show it to a broader audience.
When there are troll comments on valid social media posts, you can reply to those comments with correct information. Avoid the temptation to engage in arguments here since that will detract from the original post. Simply state what is true then move on.
